The time we have been planning for is finally here! Ribaat Academic Institute is graduating into Ribāṭ University, and we want to WELCOME YOU for our inaugural year! Whether you are a returning student from Ribaat Academic Institute, an admitted student in one of our twenty-one programs at Ribāṭ University, or beginning your first steps with us at Riverstead, one thing is for sure—we have planned for you!
You may have noticed there have been some changes coming, and perhaps have questions. For instance, why are we opening a university? We have been operating as Ribaat Academic Institute since 2011 and providing Islamic education to women around the world and, by the grace of Allah ﷻ, have expanded to over ninety countries! We take women’s scholarship seriously, and have decided to take the next steps in providing educational opportunities for women online. We are expanding and, with women’s scholarship in mind, have developed associate, bachelor’s, and graduate degrees, as well as postbaccalaureate certificates.
You may be wondering, “but what about those of us who want to take courses but not necessarily pursue a degree or certificate program?” We built the university with this concept in mind, and that is exactly why we have Ribāṭ Riverstead — like a flowing river of knowledge. Similar to how Ribaat Academic Institute operated, you do not need to submit an application to be a student here. You can continue your education in Islamic Studies, Quran, and Arabic at Riverstead.
And while we have many exciting and new changes happening, we want to assure you that one thing is still the same: our commitment to providing education to Muslim women around the world and the vision of being a rising tide of cultural change.
As we prepare for this new and exciting next chapter with Rabata, we are so grateful for the community support. We want you to know that we are here for you every step of the way.
