Tajwid 5 Juz’ Certificate

Course Description:

Through this program, students will work individually with their instructors to memorize the last five juz’ of the Holy Quran (about 100 pages) from start to finish. Each student will be paired with a certified tajwid teacher, either online or locally, with whom she will work with one-on-one. All teachers assigned at this level hold the same ijazah through a connected sanad directly from the Prophet (s) in the Hafs ‘an Asim recitation.

This certificate is issued when the student has recited the last five juz’ of the Holy Quran to one tajwid teacher and passes an oral examination for each juz’, and then for all five at once by the Riverstead Tajwid Committee. The Riverstead 5 Juz’ Certificate is issued by Rabata and the Riverstead Academic Institute and authorized by the Riverstead Tajwid Committee. All testing for this certificate will be done online.

Course Prerequisites:

• Students should be women above the age of 17. Applicants must have a passing grade in all the following courses.

*Starred items may be waived through a placement test for Tajwid and/or Arabic

**Once students are approved for TAJ 405, they are admitted as Ijazah track students and are eligible to take other level 4 and 5 courses required for the Riverstead Tajwid Iazah.

Placement: 

• New students in the Riverstead Tajwīd Program should complete an assessment to receive a recommendation on the best course to start with. The Tajwid Assessment can be found at this link: Riverstead Tajwid Assessment.

Course Requirements: 

This is an online course so students will need:

• Access to internet with an internet speed of at least 2 Mbps recommended for best performance.
• Headphones, camera and microphone may be required for in-class participation.
