Kartina Amir
Kartina’s journey in Islamic sacred knowledge began in 2013. She currently serves as a board member of Rabata Malaysia and holds an Ijazah in the Forty Hadith of Imam al-Nawawi. In 2020, she was among the first graduating cohort to earn the Ribaat Teacher Certification. A lifelong learner, Kartina continues to deepen her studies in Islamic sacred knowledge, classical homeopathy, and permaculture.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Kartina is deeply committed to environmental stewardship, sustainable living, and community engagement. An artist at heart, she is drawn to the beauty of the natural world, believing that nature has the power to heal and restore. She actively volunteers with several organizations and supports permaculture initiatives. It is not unusual to find her examining a tiny weed at the edge of a garden or turning a pile of compost under the midday sun. She believes that authentic knowledge, cultivated with humility and lived with sincerity, contributes to the restoration of both the human heart and the natural world.
Kartina has trained in the art of karate-do for more than 13 years with Malaysia’s Nobukawa-Ha Shito Ryu Kai. Alongside her four children, she continues to train and grow in the discipline, embracing karate as a lifelong practice that strengthens both character and family bonds. As a dedicated practitioner and mentor, she also trains with young people, helping to cultivate discipline, resilience and respect.
For more than a decade, Kartina has served as a committee member of the Malaysian Rare Disorders Society (MRDS), contributing to creative initiatives that raise awareness and foster meaningful community engagement. Her ability to connect creativity with purpose has been central to many of the organization’s outreach efforts.
Kartina homeschooled her four children and lives with her husband, her mother-in-law, two chickens, a turtle, and her 22-year-old cat in the foothills of the world’s largest quartz ridge.
