Course Information

Course Description

This is the second module of the Intermediate Beginner band. In this level, students will build on their knowledge of nominal sentences by learning how to negate them and situate them in the past tense. They will also learn how to express possession and how to identify and construct dual and plural nouns. They will expand their vocabulary by learning to talk about careers, food and drink, and the human body.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

• Read vowelled Arabic texts aloud with increasing speed and accuracy, and recognize familiar vocabulary and grammatical features in both vowelled and unvowelled texts.
• Understand the main ideas and key information in short texts of moderate complexity, identifying essential vocabulary and structures.
• Form and use increasingly complex grammatical patterns to construct coherent sentences and short paragraphs.
• Communicate about familiar topics—such as careers, eating habits, and health—using an expanded range of vocabulary and grammar.
• Demonstrate growing comprehension of high-frequency Qur’anic and religious vocabulary and apply basic grammatical awareness to understand selected verses.

Attendance Policy

Students are expected to attend all scheduled class sessions and participate actively in their learning. If an absence is unavoidable, students are responsible for communicating with their instructor, reviewing missed material, and completing any assigned work.

To ensure a successful online learning experience, all students must have regular access to a personal computer and reliable high-speed internet. Courses at Ribāṭ University are delivered through Canvas and may include video lectures, interactive discussions, digital readings, and multimedia assignments.
Students are responsible for maintaining the technology needed to participate fully.
