This is the first course in the Riverstead Arabic Language Program. It is designed to equip learners with the skills to read (phonetically decode) and write the Arabic script with vowels and provide them with a range of high frequency vocabulary which they can use in their reading of Quranic texts and to offer greetings in Arabic.
Students should be women above the age of 17.
If this is your first Arabic course at Riverstead, you are required to submit a placement test. Click here for the Arabic Placement test.
Students are expected to attend 2 online classes each week, complete weekly assignments, submit a personal project and a final exam.
Live attendance is recommended whenever possible for the best learning experience. Recordings of the sessions will be made available for registered students who cannot attend live. Students will have access to course forums, recordings, and files until August 31, 2026.
